More lag frustration

Filed under: Uncategorized — tankette @ 3:47 pm

$60 later, we were good to go with a new router installed. No lag. Everything back to normal. 3 of us doing dailies, flying around Shat, hitting AH in IF, etc.

So off we go to SSC. We looked good for tanks. Me, another warrior tank, and 2 pally tanks that have marginal gear atm. We only had 5 healers though. We started the trash pulls hoping another healer would log on but that didn’t happen. We decided to skip Hydross and go for Lurker instead.

We are clicking away, mowing through trash mobs, when the raid leader asks in Vent, “By the way Tank, did you take care of the issue you had with the lag?” “Yes”, I said, ” the new router did the trick and everything is back to normal.” The very next pull, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

The rest of the raid had the 3 of us lagging all over the place, re-logging, etc. The other 3 tanks had to handle the rest of the trash pulls. We got down to Lurker and of course I couldn’t be relied on to MT so the other warrior did it. We wiped 2 times and at least one of those was due to me lagging. The lack of heals also hurt. We ended up having one of the pally tanks get a port to IF to respec to heals. Even with my lat floating between 1000 and 2000 I was still somehow able to get my add every time. Lurker dropped on the 3rd attempt with only 22 people and 3 of those lagging horribly.

Today I’ll be installing a new modem to go along with the new router. That better be the fix.
